Applying user centered design, creative problem solving, and analytical technical skills, I have designed everything from digital applications to physical products.

Each of these projects demonstrates not only my creative and technical skills, but also also my ability to balance the user's needs with business and technical limitations in order to execute complex operations.

Dartmouth Humanitarian Engineering – DHElios 

Solar Thermal Water Heater 

Working with firewood dependent communities in Sub-Saharan Africa, our team of Dartmouth students engineered and built a solar powered water heater that met their needs while reducing their firewood consumption by over 40%.

InForest is a tablet application that allows agroforestry researchers to more efficiently and accurately collect, track, and display data from forest censuses.

How might we design an adaptive garment that keeps the user at a comfortable temperature in varying conditions?

Through this scholarship, I have been researching smart devices, textiles, and the conditions required for humans to be comfortable. I hope to develop fabrics that, when used in clothing, can dynamically alter their conductive properties in order to keep the user comfortable, regardless of changes in their activity or environment.
